Presto '60s Paintings

Origin

Bursts of color from original Kodachrome transparencies shot in the late '60s in Manhattan at Orange Studio (Madison Ave & 30th Street). Manipulated, cut, super-imposed, re-photographed on an Oxberry camera stand, then digitized and printed on canvas. Surface finished with varnished impressions.

What

Canvases (unique, 54x36 inches) topped by varnished symbols which display a nearly hidden but physical affirmation of our thoughts toward the beguiling subject matter and perhaps a wink at our current culture of emojis.

Why

"I make band-aids of color & feeling to cover up the wounds of our current blunt reality."
